Let’s Make ACT Hospitality Safer

Everyone should feel safe working or hanging out in Canberra’s bars, restaurants, pubs, and venues. That’s why Venus Vinifera is bringing the whole hospitality community together to tackle sexual harassment and assault head-on. This campaign is all about your voices—business owners, managers, staff, and patrons—coming together to call out the challenges and work towards real, practical solutions.

Why This Campaign Matters

Sexual harassment and violence have been way too common in hospitality, but it doesn’t have to stay that way. We all deserve a safe space to work, relax, and enjoy. At Venus Vinifera, we’re focused on starting honest conversations, pushing for education, and getting the government on board to support real change.

Canberra’s hospitality scene is the heart of our city—from bustling bars and cosy restaurants to late-night gigs and weekend festivals. It’s where our community comes together. But too many people don’t feel safe in these spaces. We’re here to change that. It’s time to talk openly about what needs to change and how we can make that happen, together.

How You Can Get Involved

Your voice is the key to creating a better future for ACT’s hospitality scene. Here’s how you can jump in:

  • Complete Our Survey: Got something to say? Share your experiences through our anonymous survey. It helps us understand what support is needed, what’s getting in the way, and what’s already making a difference.
  • Spread the Word: Talk to your mates and colleagues about why this matters. Tell them about the campaign, share why it’s important, and get them involved.
